Because although I admit to being guilty of it myself, I've too often been on the receiving end of gay culture's rampant ageism and since this site allows the filtering and searching of profiles by age, I'd rather someone read it in my profile and close the window manually than never having opened it to begin with. I'm honest about my age and look like my pics. I'm 54 actual, hard-won, honest years old. I've lived every minute of it and am proud of my good fortune to the point of narcissism. People need to get over the idea that young is inherently better than old. Experience can only affect sexuality in a positive way, and I personally prefer maturity to youth.
